God Reciprocates With the Person Of Virtue

You must know that it is the human being which is more menacing than Satan. While God and Satan each manifest good and evil respectively, human beings carry out two different activities simultaneously. When they have faith in God, they express themselves as good, but when they center on Satan, they express themselves as evil. What position then should you take today? You should not take the position of Satan in real life. You should not lead a life that can be subjected to the false accusations of Satan, neither three-dimensionally nor horizontally. Through continuous prayer and a life of devotion, you must acquire very sharp wisdom that can distinguish between good and bad. However, you must not pursue only wisdom. If you only seek wisdom, you will become cunning people and easily make mistakes.

How then has Christianity, which used to say all would be well as long as you believed, become so divided? How much do you have to believe? How deep are the words of Jesus whom you looked to, harboring a desire, and whose words you have believed? Where is the standard of truth established for God’s Will? The words spoken until today will not do. You must equip yourselves with God’s character, which is the very core of truth, and become figures of immutability who are united with God. Regardless of any age and any changing circumstances, you must become living bodies who are immutable.

If you become united with God, then when God stays as an immutable figure, you, too, will be immutable. When God exists as the one and only being, you, too, will be solitary beings. If God does not leave His ideal garden eternally, then you, too, will not leave that ideal garden. As of now, you are not in that situation.

You may realize that, at present, you are more cunning than Satan, regardless of whether you get up in the morning, whether you sleep in the evening, and whether you carry out action in the daytime. Therefore, you must regard yourselves as more frightful than God or Satan. The main causal influence of the destruction of the Lord of Heaven is not Satan, but human beings. Human beings also have the capacity to make the Lord of Heaven successful.

You must take heed that you will make the Lord of Heaven fail or succeed. Further, you are standing at the crossroad where you can become the mark of Heaven or the mark of Satan. What do you, who are standing at this crossroad, have to do to belong to the side of Heaven? First, you should be able to hear the words of Heaven. Further, you should be able to see the features of Heaven and speak the words of Heaven. You must become such people and play the role of the example that discerns good from evil. To be able to do that, you must first fight to find your own individual selves. At the same time, you must fight to restore the surroundings, the world and the Lord of Heaven. Only after you pass through such a process will Jesus be able to come looking for you.

In what form then will Jesus come? Jesus will come as the ideal standard of resurrection. Once he arrives here on this earth, he will promulgate the supreme words of God. He will manifest all glory.

When such a cosmic Lord of resurrection comes, even if you are put in a situation where you are forsaken or killed, you must become the ones who unchangingly attend and follow the Lord. Otherwise, you remain doing nothing but just looking and listening to Jesus. You cannot become the bride who can establish relations with Jesus as the bridegroom and live eternally, exchanging love in the palace of Heaven.

When Mary Magdalene went to look for Jesus right after his resurrection, Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet returned to the Father” (John 20:17). Nevertheless, Jesus appeared before Mary Magdalene because she had the heart that could console him. Similarly, only when you comprehend the ideal and will of heavenly principle transcending yourselves will Jesus manifest himself to that comprehending heart. If you listen to the words of God and can convey them on His behalf, the Lord will come toward you even if you do not ask Him. You must understand that the Lord is motioning with His arms spread out for you to come. God also is doing that.

The Internal Mission of God’s Son

Think about this please. If we are to talk in terms of quantity, it must be of a quantity some of which will remain even after completely filling the world and the universe. Under these internal circumstances God has been longing for this one man, thinking about him and wanting to love him. Wouldn’t God do that? Think about whether God would do that or not. Would he or not? What do you think?

Let us say that a man is born on earth as a son with these qualities. What should this man do from God’s perspective? This man should be able to long for God to the same extent that God has yearned for him. The man must be able to be joyful and to yearn for God to the extent that had God longed for him. In addition, he should be able to fight with a strong desire to love God back to the extent to which God had wanted to love this man.

From God’s perspective, the past was supposed to be ideal; however because of the Fall… Hence, one must be able to connect with the deep heart of God, who has been looking for a son to whom he can say, Throughout fallen history, there was no one that was like you at any time nor was there someone who had the aspects I have been looking for… You are the partner I have been without for six thousand years. I can set you in front of Adam’s family and boast of you in front of Adam. I can set you up in front of Noah’s family and boast of you in front of Noah. I can set you up in front of Abraham’s family and boast of you in front of Abraham. I can boast of you in front of Jesus. You have no shortcomings. You are fully qualified to be boasted of in front of all people during the historic Last Days of humanity. My son!

God never detours

God has been working tirelessly for 6,000 years to accomplish one thing: the perfected Adam. God has been working to see that man as a model for mankind. Out of all the multitudes of men, the world has still not met that one man who is perfect in the sight of God. Yet no matter what, God’s will is marching on. God promised a Messiah when Adam failed and if that Messiah cannot fulfill in the fullest degree then God will send another Messiah. That is the messianic concept. The Messiah’s ideal is perfectly parallel with the ideal of God and therefore we can say that God and the Messiah are one.

For God and the Messiah to become one, what must the Messiah do? To answer that you must know why God created man. Was man created for himself or for someone else-for woman? If any man thinks he was born for self-glory, he is absolutely wrong. God created man for the sake of woman.

What kind of man was Jesus? Was he man or woman or in between? What is a true man? Is the President of the United States automatically a true man? The true man is one who perfectly fits God’s framework, meaning that if God is round, that true man is perfectly round and if God is square, that true man is perfectly square. From day to night, from eternity to eternity he will not deviate from that standard.

Once he becomes a true man in the sight of God, will he waver and change or will he stick to God’s one principle goal? Will the true man say, “Well, I will try this for ten years and if it doesn’t work I will change”? Or will that man not change for ten years or one hundred years or for eternity? When there is danger to his life will he exclaim, “I definitely don’t want to be in this situation. I must take cover”? Why not? If he deviates in any way then he is no longer like God because God never changes. Paralleling this, will you try first for a year or so and then see what happens? Would a true member of the Unification Church give up or change?

I want you to know that God is straightforward. He will not detour but will go ahead regardless of what happens. When God moves and there is an enemy roadblock, God knows that His advance will ultimately smash all opposition. God knows that it is the other side which will be shattered. Therefore, the true man and the true member is fearless, having the courage to clash with opposition and knowing the other side will eventually fall away. He will always take the adventurous way, not avoiding anything in order to seize the advantage. You must live that way every day. God is eternal; therefore, I am an eternal being. God is unique; therefore, I am unique. God is unchanging; therefore, I will never change. God is absolute so I am going to be absolute. That is the way you must think every day.

How do we know Jesus was a true man? He didn’t write a big sign on his forehead or get a Ph.D. He didn’t have any extraordinary size or power. Why do we know him to be a true man? We know Jesus was a true man because his way of life was parallel with the will of God and fit perfectly the description of God’s way of life. We know that Jesus Christ was born solely for the will of God, that he lived solely for the will of God and that he died solely for the will of God. At the critical moment of Jesus’ death on the cross he died as a Messiah and with the dignity of a Messiah, not as an ordinary man, a sad man or a man taking cover. He deeply felt, “Even though the Roman Empire opposes me now, it shall receive my mercy. Even though the Israelites oppose me, they shall receive my mercy.” Therefore, Jesus had room to forgive them, room to pray for them and to embrace them.

Jesus could not give up the will of God by resenting their adamant opposition to his efforts to save them. Jesus certainly could not abandon his mission at that moment by hating the people. He was a true man because he perfectly lived the life of God. He was a walking God. There was no separation between God and Jesus, and because no one can destroy God no one can destroy Jesus Christ. The crucifixion was not his destruction; God manifested the power of resurrection so that the world could see that Jesus was never destroyed.

Love

As I Can See

My dear people,
let us love one another
since love comes from God
and everyone who loves is begotten by God and knows God.
Anyone who fails to love can never have known God,
because God is love.
God’s love for us was revealed
when God sent into the world his only Son
so that we could have life through him;
this is the love I mean:
not our love for God,
but God’s love for us when he sent his Son
to be the sacrifice that takes our sins away.
My dear people,
since God has loved us so much,
we too should love one another.
No one has ever seen God;
but as long as we love one another
God will live in us
and his love will be complete in us.
We can know that we are living in him
and he is living in us
because…

The Right Attitude for a Religious Person

Jesus is the one in whom we believe today and who sacrificed his life for this faith. No religious people have known about this since history began. No one on earth knew how to grab hold of Jesus and cry over this. Carefully considering this matter in this light, the mind with which you can weep unrestrainedly for the sorrow of Jesus must linger in you and overwhelm you. Otherwise, you cannot be considered a religious person who is proceeding toward the heavenly kingdom. That is how I feel.

As we come to look at this pitiful people now, we have to feel sorrow regarding their fate. As we see religious denominations fighting with one another and splintering into fragments, we must watch it from the position of being inseparably related to it. Only when you know how to feel sorrowful, having a mind like that of Jesus on behalf of history, the present period, and future descendants, can you leave at least the condition of receiving the blessing granted to Israel to your descendants on the earth. You must know this.

Viewed in this light, the right attitude of a religious person is to deny himself completely. Only when he crosses the hill of death can he form ties of happiness with Heaven and say at the time of passing on, “Father, I have accomplished all that Jesus did.” He should be able to end the ties of sorrow and bitter resentment that he has formed and embrace the moment when he can sing of ties interlocked with happiness. We should know that these people will possess the kingdom of eternity; they will live in the heavenly kingdom. God’s will is to seek out these kinds of people.

When I look at those of you who have sought out the Unification Church and entered it, there are moments when I consider you pitiful. You sought and joined the Unification Church because you are connected with it through some unknown relationships. In spite of trying to turn your steps away, you have lingering attachments pulling on you. If this unconscious relationship was not caused by you, who was it caused by? We must know that it was because behind us was the foundation of the accomplishment of our ancestors, who strove to dissolve the bitterness in the history of blood and tears. Therefore, whenever such a feeling comes in our heart, from now on it should be possible for the mind to call out, “Father!” to Heaven and explode within us, even if we are falling down, forgetting even the consciousness of our existence. We will have to say that only when we become connected with the world of happiness after crossing the hill of history, bound with sorrow, can we become qualified to receive the Lord for the first time.

That is the case for you, and I cannot escape from it either. Why is it that unbearable and inexplicable sorrow wells up within us and penetrates deeply into us? It is because of the relationships of historical han, which even I do not understand. It is because heavenly relations, earthly relations, and human relations that we cannot understand are bound with us today. We must know this. What is it that Heaven wants? It is the person who can indemnify all the sorrowful relations on the earth. He is the man who can say, “Father! I will indemnify all Your sorrowful relationships. Please guide me to become the central figure of the history that is bound with sorrow. Please allow me to become the one who can remain in the world of sorrowful relations and whom Heaven wants in that world.” If we have this kind of mind, we must know that even if numerous crosses come, it does not mean all is over.

What did Jesus mean by saying, “I have accomplished all”? Jesus had accomplished his mission only to a certain limit through his death in the course of indemnifying Heaven’s sorrow. In other words, Jesus knew that if he died, an indescribable sorrow would enter into the heart of God and be connected to it. The miserable path of death would be left behind to the throng of people following him. Because he knew that the foundation of spiritual salvation would be established with his death, he was able to go beyond his death with a manly mien.

The Fulfillment of the Law

As I Can See

“Do not imagine that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I have
come not to abolish but to complete them. I tell you solemnly, till heaven
and earth disappear, not one dot, not one little stroke, shall disappear from
the Law until its purpose is achieved. Therefore, the man who infringes even
one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will
be considered the least in the kingdom of heaven; but the man who keeps them
and teaches them will be considered great in the kingdom of heaven.”

Matthew 5:17-19

If Israel had accepted Jesus

As I Can See

Now at this time we can examine another important point. What would have happened if the people of Israel had wholeheartedly accepted Jesus Christ? Imagine the nation of Israel united with Jesus. What would that have meant? First. of all, Jesus would not have been killed. People would have glorified Jesus as the living Lord. They would have then marched to Rome with the living Christ as their commander-in-chief, and Rome would have surrendered to the Son of God in his own lifetime. But in the sad reality of history, it took four centuries for a band of Jesus’ disciples to conquer Rome. Jesus never won the chosen people of Israel, and he never gained the support he needed from them. He came to erect the Kingdom of God on earth, but instead he had to caution his disciples even to keep his identity a secret because people did not…

The question of Elijah

As I Can See

This presented a great dilemma for the people of Israel. They immediately asked, “If this Jesus is the Messiah, then were is Elijah?” They earnestly expected the Messiah at that time, so they were also waiting for Elijah. They believed he would come straight down from heaven, right out of the sky, and the Messiah would come soon after, in a similar manner.

So when Jesus proclaimed himself as the Son of God, the Jewish people became puzzled. If there had come no Elijah, then there could be no Messiah. And no one had told them that Elijah had come. The disciples of Jesus were also confused. When they went out to preach the gospel, people persistently denied that Jesus could be the Son of God because the disciples were unable to prove that Elijah had come. They confronted this problem everywhere they went.

The disciples of Jesus were not…

Rumors about Jesus

As I Can See

Yes, John the Baptist bore witness, and he did the job that God intended for him to do at that time. But later on, doubts came to him, and he finally succumbed to the many rumors circulating about Jesus. One such rumor called Jesus fatherless, an illegitimate child. John the Baptist certainly heard that rumor, and he wondered how such a person could be the Son of God. Even though he had witnessed to Jesus, John later became suspicious and betrayed him. If John the Baptist had truly united with Jesus Christ, he could have moved his people to accept Jesus as the Messiah, for the power and influence of John was very great in those days.

I am telling you many unusual things, and you may ask by what authority I am speaking. It is the authority of the Bible, and with the authority of revelation. Let us read…

No hope of avoiding death

As I Can See

Who has ever understood the broken heart of Jesus? He said, ‘Would that even today you knew the things that make for peace! But now they are hid from your eyes.’ (Luke 19:42)

By that time Jesus knew there was absolutely no hope of avoiding death. Yet he pleaded with God in Gethsemane, and he pleaded with God on the cross: ‘My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?’ (Matt. 27:46)

Thus Jesus died on the cross, not of his own will, not of the will of God, but by the will of men. Christ was destined to return from that moment on. He will return to consummate his mission on earth. Mankind must await his Second Coming for the complete salvation of the world.

Many people may now ask, “What about the prophecies in the Old Testament concerning the death of Jesus on the cross?” I am aware…
