Quote

“Heaven is not some place; it is within my restored mind and body. Thus both Heaven and Hell are within yourself. You are the traffic policeman and can command yourself to go to heaven or to go to hell. This is a very dangerous job in a way, because you have to deal with a lot of force, power, and traffic coming at you. If you don’t direct well, the world and yourself can go to pieces.” – Reverend Sun Myung Moon

7 Years of Chaos in the Last Days

God warned humankind that there would be seven years of great chaos in the Last Days. During this time of great difficulty, the faithful will collide with the sorrowful circumstances of Heaven over the course of the six thousand years of history. They will be faced with circumstances in which the bonds between human beings will be severed completely, and they will be unable to trust anything. It will be a time when you will not be able to insist that you are following your course of life based on your conscience, no matter how much you have lived faithfully according to your conscience.

It will be a time when you cannot insist that the course of your life is based on faith or on some ideology. Anybody who embraces God’s will and is awake will feel pain whenever he beholds what is around him. When such a time comes, that will be within the seven years of great chaos in the Last Days. That will be a time when hope is shaken. That will be a time when the centre of the faith that we believe in is shaken. That will be the time when leaders who had followed in faith will waver. Everything will be shaken. It will be a time when everything – ideologies, religion, conscience and the parental heart – will be shaken.

Why, then, was God compelled to bring about such a world? It was so that He can bestow value on us for our having participated with the God who has worked so hard throughout history, with the true God. God has seen countless tragedies in the course of six thousand years and has endured numerous situations. In the Last Days, people will face a situation where they will be unable to establish their centre with their conscience or ideology or faith. Such a time will come when God will seek true sons and daughters who can love God despite such chaos, who are ready to live with God even amidst such difficult circumstances.

That is why, do not be sorrowful if you see the church sway; do not be sorrowful if you see an ideology create disturbance; do not be sorrowful if you see a sovereign collapse; do not be sorrowful if you see your parents change; do not be sorrowful if you see your brothers change and fall away. Even if everything in the world that you have relied on and trusted should sway, your hearts should be composed. You must know that God is unswayed, and even at this very minute He is coming to you. You must understand that He gives us pain because it is part of a great promise to connect us with that day, which He treasures, and with the pain that He had gone through. Such a time is needed in the world in order to find a person who can grasp onto Heaven in such circumstances and call out to others saying, “Let’s go together. Let’s fight together. Let’s take action together.”

Therefore, do not be discouraged if you see that the path ahead is blocked. Do not lose heart if you see your nation falling into disorder. God is not dead. Do not lose hope even if the world is in uproar. God is not dead. He will surely come to us. Even if everything is in chaos, do not waver in your single-mindedness toward Heaven. Your heart of depending on Heaven and looking toward Heaven with hope must never change. Even if God should place you in a painful position to change that heart, you must remain fervent and be able to call upon the Father in such circumstances. No matter what kind of situation you find yourself in, you must make effort to hold on to God’s heart as a lifeline and climb up from that position. Even if you have to undergo the pain of falling into hell, if you can stand in a position of being with the Father, knowing the Father’s pain, believing that the Father will recognize your pain, and move forward, fully understanding your responsibility and duty, with the determination to go into such circumstances, you will not perish.

There are countless Christians today, but among them how many can be believers of this type? When we attend the Father, we should not attend the Father who sits on His throne in heaven; we should attend the Father who is working hard to find His true sons and daughters amidst the surging waves of death. We should regard Him as our own Father, and make the Father’s affairs our own, make the Father’s heart our own, and make the Father’s wish our own. We should gallantly go forward to that Father who seeks us, and confidently say, “I know that Your wish is to find Your son. What matters to You is finding that son who resolves all Your historical circumstances. Your heart desires to embrace and love Your lost son. Even if I find myself in misery, chaos and difficulty, I will be the substantiation of Your hope, the substantiation of what You are feeling, and the substantiation of Your heart.” You must understand that only in this position can you become the Father’s son and the one who can attend the Father.

Why are you so important to God?

When you look at our world outside today, common sense tells you that there cannot be much joy or hope for God and not much of anything which He can take pride in. If that is the case, but you as an individual, church or nation can bring hope to God then you are indispensable to God. You don’t have to lead a powerful nation to be needed by God. If you are just one feeble individual yet you harbour hope for God then you are very precious to Him, more than anything else in the world. This world is now living in despair and hopelessness. If in spite of the bleakness you can offer hope to the world then you don’t need to have power for this entire world to look at you with great expectation. Throughout history people lived in tragedy and sadness and corruption and any individual who can bring hope to the world and God is certainly precious. It doesn’t matter whether that person is a woman or man, as long as that person becomes the hope of God and mankind and history.

Humanity Should Have Taken Pride in Jesus

Heaven wanted the Israelites to follow Moses. God wanted them to follow him with the same intensity of desire with which He had established him, but that wish was shattered. Against God’s will, the Israelites became sacrifices to Satan.

The hope that God held in Moses during his forty years in the palace of Pharaoh, his forty years in the Midian wilderness, and the forty years of the wilderness course was completely shattered. As a result, God no longer had a people and a land of which He could be proud. Nevertheless, Moses wanted to be proud of these worthless people. The tragedy is that the Israelites were, in like manner, not proud of the greatness of Moses, whom God had raised.

What kind of nation and people can possess the heavenly authority to influence the world in the last days? You have to understand that it is the nation or people who take pride in the person God has chosen. Wouldn’t that be so?

Let us think about Jesus once more. Jesus was the ultimate fruit of all God’s work of 4,000 years. He was the incarnation of God’s heart and love. Moreover, his words, situation, hopes and heart represented everything of God. We have to realize that Jesus was chosen to represent and take pride in the hope of God.

After persevering for 4,000 years, God sent Jesus as His representative, the central figure of which He was proud. Yet, when Jesus came to the earth, he never boasted about himself.

Jesus never had the chance to boast about himself in a manner that could bring joy to God. No one boasted about Jesus either, which would have pleased God. Because Jesus came in place of God, he had an intense desire to be proud of himself before the family, the religious sects, the people, and the world. Don’t you think that must have been true? Because he came as the proud fruit for which God had waited 4,000 years, he really wanted to be proud of that in the presence of his family, society, nation and the world.

Yet Jesus did not have the foundation upon which he could stand proud before the thousands of people. God raised Jesus, intending to boast about him before all created things in heaven and earth, as well as before Satan. Nonetheless, no one ever took pride in him, not his family, not his sect, not his people, nor the world.

We who are the descendants of the traitors to Heaven should feel utterly ashamed in the presence of Heaven. We human beings, who have committed the historic sin, are not in a position to boast about ourselves. You have to understand that it has been the source of God’s deepest sorrow that He could not find one person, one sect or one people of which to be proud.

When God chose Jesus as the representative of the 4,000-year history, Jesus shed tears and said, “It is my greatest honour.” Jesus became extremely grievous because he could not fulfil this Will. Rather than finding an excuse for himself, he lamented and bowed his head before Heaven with the attitude, “I never thought that the wishes of my Father, who has toiled so hard for my sake, would meet such a tragic end.” You must understand that the time has come when we must show our pride in Jesus, who had this kind of heart.

Christians today must understand that it is their task to usher in the one proud day Jesus wanted to fulfil for the individuals, families, people and the world. They must attend Jesus. This is what Heaven desires. Now you must be awakened to the original heart of God, who wanted to boast about humanity after creating the Garden of Eden.

Jesus, who should have been glorified and felt proud that he was the son of God, had to shoulder the cross in misery. You must be full of the desire to liberate the bitter heart Jesus had toward the people, heaven and earth, and Satan as he walked toward Golgotha with the cross on his shoulders. You have to feel this in your heart. You have to have a desperate heart toward the Will of Heaven.

The Position in which We Must Stand after We Have Made the Preparations

In this age today, we have to pass through a period of preparation and a period of practice in our search for Heaven. We must seek for the original nature of Heaven. What kind of preparation must we make? In what kind of position must we stand? We have to stand in the same position as Jesus during his thirty- year preparation period. In doing so, we must prepare to represent the internal heart of Heaven and the human heart, represent all sovereignties, and determine to face conflicts by ourselves. Accordingly, a group of people certainly must appear who cross Golgotha on the world level with this kind of determination. You must understand this.

Jesus said, “It is finished,” when he was passing away. Yet this is not the culminating point of the completion of the providence. For this reason, we must pioneer a course through which we can say, “It is finished,” while we are still alive. The heavenly soldiers and angels, spirits and all created things must be able to bow their heads and say, “Today is the day your wishes are fulfilled. Please receive the glory.” This is the time to prepare for the day we can say, “It is finished” in this way. Christians today remain faithful to go beyond the day of saying, “It is finished” as they pass away. They must be able to say the same while they are alive. Hence, you must take charge of the mission of a heavenly pioneer in this first completion stage we are in today.

Although it may seem that Jesus died for the world, he was never persecuted on the world level. He was persecuted on the level of the people. However, in this concluding age of Christianity today at the completion stage that must go over the last victorious Golgotha, you must step out to the world. Using the world stage as your foundation, you must inherit the heart that Jesus felt and the determination that he made during his thirty-year preparation period. You must copy the tactics that he used during the three years of his ministry. With these, you are to go over any kind of Golgotha, even at the risk of your life. Shouldering the responsibility to accomplish this task, you must fulfill the mission of a pioneer.

To put it another way, you must establish a new, second stage for Heaven. To do that, you must become the people who can overcome all difficulties by clinging to the internal heart of Jesus as he prayed for his enemies. You must become Christians who have inherited the mission on the world level. Without becoming this kind of person, on the day of completion when you say, “It is finished,” you will not be able to meet the one glorious day.

Although Christians have repeated this incomplete path and have taken responsibility for this path as pioneers, now we must pioneer the one way of completion. Accordingly, we must inherit the first ideology, with which we have been preparing ourselves while cherishing the ideology of Heaven, and which was manifested as the second ideology. By doing so, we must first alleviate the bitterness in the heart of Jesus, and then alleviate God’s bitterness from the 6,000 years. We must remain alive and usher in the day when we can say, “It is finished.”

We must cover up the unfortunate historical course of fighting with Satan and cling to the victorious day when we can fight for the sake of God’s glory. Moreover, you must possess the same heart as Jesus as he took the path to the cross and have the same form as his substantial body before you approach Heaven. Only when this is done can you accomplish what Jesus could not accomplish when he came to this earth with the mission of a pioneer on two fronts. We must feel deep in our hearts that we must pioneer the path of Golgotha on the level of the world, which Jesus left unfinished.

Jesus could not strike those who persecuted him and drove him away but he had to overcome the situation by praying for them and for his enemies. Today we must have the magnanimity to wish blessings upon this kind of people and be determined to triumph over death and grasp Heaven. Only when we have done that can we can usher in the one day of glory and become the children who can enter the bosom of God on the world level, the pioneers of the new garden on the world level. Please keep this in mind.

Accordingly, the Kingdom of Heaven that Jesus established before he passed away, the heart of love that he sought, the world he was trying to found, must all be realized in us. When we stand as the victors with whom Satan has not even a trace of attachment, when we go forward as the new pioneers on the level of the cosmos with the glorious flag of Heaven, then the Will of the Father can be accomplished and your mission of restoration will come to a conclusion. This will bring about the complete dissolution of Jesus’ bitterness. We must understand this.

The History of the Providence of Being Struck First in the Process of Restoration

Just before Jesus passed away on the cross that was dripping with his blood, he said, “My Father, my Father, why have You forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:46) At the end of this prayer, he said, “It is finished.” (John 19:30) He said, “It is finished,” not because he wanted to say that he had realized the ideal world. What he meant by this statement was that he had carried out the determination he had made during his thirty-year preparation period: “If my path becomes tragic, then I will do such and such.” This statement is not to be taken as something joyful; it was his expression of his sad heart to all of humanity. We have to understand that this was his last Will, which he spoke to the ignorant people out of his grieving heart.

Humanity has longed for the day when they could pioneer Jesus’ internal path of sorrow and be able to say, “I have realized everything.” You have to understand that this is the day of the returning resurrection. You have to understand this clearly.

Because the course of the crucifixion is the way Jesus fought with the satanic world, Christians all over the world today are following this example. Heaven reclaims after having been hit first. The people had betrayed him. Even the twelve apostles denied him, yet it was these twelve disciples that Jesus came to visit after he was resurrected from death. God takes things back after they have been hit once. St. Stephen, who believed in Jesus, was stoned to death. When St. Stephen was killed, God was able to claim St. Paul. In the same way that Jesus reclaimed the disciples who had earlier betrayed him, Jesus performed the powers of resurrection and took Saul at a time when the followers of Jesus were being killed. In other words, he took him after suffering a blow. Moreover, after he was renamed Paul, Saul took blows in place of the twelve disciples. Who would have thought that Paul, who suffered plenty of persecution and mistreatment, would become the most important apostle and establish the foundation for Christianity?

Who struck Jesus? The Roman soldiers and the Israelites struck Jesus. The Romans took the initiative. For this reason, because the disciples of Jesus were supposed to restore through indemnity the blows that Jesus took, they had to go into Rome and be persecuted in his place.

Because there remained the task to restore through indemnity the blows that the twelve apostles, seventy followers, and the multitudes took on behalf of the people, Rome was not allowed to collapse right away.

After the period of the Roman Empire and feudal society, when the Catholic church was at the height of its power, Luther challenged the church through the religious Reformation movement, and the church struck him and the movement down. Protestantism, which suffered these blows, crossed the Pacific, and created a new culture, it built the America of today. The external Canaan on the world level was established through those Christian groups who had been chased out.

Now the time has come when the society in Israel has taken on the form of a democratic nation. Heaven will seek another group of people to take the blow once again. This is a transition period in history. History has been seeking the group of people who will take the blows. This is the time when groups who will be struck and chased out must emerge among the churches and democratic nations. The group that is being chased out will have a different ideology and mind-set than the conventional one. Why? The ideology of Jesus is not the ideology of the earth. It is the ideology of the Kingdom of Heaven. It is fundamentally different from any ideology found on the earth. We know through our study of history that the people who try to live according to this new ideology will come to the surface through a course of great changes in heaven and earth, because Jesus founded the ideology.

What kind of group of people will appear at that moment? In the concluding period of history, a group of faithful people must appear who follow the footsteps of Jesus’ path toward Golgotha, a group which has been blessed by Heaven. A group must emerge who will retrace this inescapable path toward the hill of Golgotha, even if they are persecuted and driven out. Therefore, we must remember that a denomination must appear that shoulders the burden of Golgotha not on the level of Jesus, an individual, but on the level of Christianity or a church. Jesus gained what he was supposed to gain after first being struck. Since he was beaten by Rome, he took Rome. Because he pushed forward in time the movements of restoring the church, the nation and the world, he walked the individual path of Golgotha, in which he suffered blows on the individual level. Accordingly, there must emerge a religious group today that takes the blows on the level of the church and walks the path of Golgotha. A people must appear who walk the path of Golgotha on the level of a people. This is the formula course to reach Heaven in the last days.

Repentance, Confession and Restitution

Repentance is the first step on the road to recovery of a relationship with God or realization of the original nature. Sins, attachments, and mistaken views must be acknowledged as such; then it is possible to turn away from the old life and set out on the new path of faith. Since accumulated sins and delusions form a barrier obscuring the presence of God or the true self, repentance is a condition for God to forgive the sin and eradicate illusion, that the divine Presence may once again grace the penitent’s life.

Repentance is sometimes misunderstood as being fulfilled by words of contrition uttered in prayer.  Words of contrition are indeed significant when they reflect a fresh inner realization that a particular course of action was wrong, and when they are accompanied by a sincere vow not to repeat the sin. But that is only the first stage of repentance. The second stage, one far more efficacious, is to confess the sin to others, particularly a confession to the person who had been wronged. The humiliation and shame which accompanies confessing one’s sin to another makes such repentance extremely serious, and laying one’s sins out in the open is a powerful cathartic. The third stage of repentance is to make some substantial compensation for the past misdeed. This means to do penance or to make restitution to the person who had been wronged, or, if that is not possible, to someone else representing that person. Finally, repentance should result in an actual change of direction in the life of the penitent, as he endeavors to perform good deeds and eschew his former transgressions.

The Offerings of Cain and Abel

When Cain and Abel both made an offering, it seems that God’s position of receiving the offering of Abel was different from His position of rejecting the offering of Cain. However, you should know there was no difference in God’s position dealing with them. God would have surely accepted Cain’s offering if there was even a trace of willingness in Cain’s heart to go through Abel who represented God. Although there may have been a difference as to when He would accept it, God tried to deal with them fairly.

If Cain did not really care about the offering that he prepared for God, then it would not have mattered to him so much whether or not God received the offering of Abel. However, what made him furious and resentful was the thought that his devotion was inferior to that of Abel. When you look at the offering centering on Abel, he prepared it with the same degree of devotion as Cain. Only because Abel was on the side of God from the beginning, God accepted it. For this reason, Abel should have been grateful and humble even if God accepted only his offering. Then would Cain have tried to kill him? However, since God only received his offering, Abel must have expressed his joy excessively as to arouse intense jealousy and anger in Cain. It would have been good if he just kept his feelings of happiness to himself and not expressed it at all; but on the contrary, he boasted to his older brother. Don’t you also want to boast about some happy events in your life? Don’t you want to brag about it? Similarly, Abel must have bragged about it to his brother. In so doing, he must have gone overboard and said, “God did not receive your offering, my older brother, and just accepted mine. So, I won. You lost.” Thus, Cain’s face must have turned really red, and he could not help but become extremely enraged. It is reasonable to think this was what happened.

Abel should not have bragged how happy he was because he received the blessing from God. Instead, when he received the blessing, Abel should have realized his own shortcomings and said, “Older brother, I am sorry, I don’t deserve this blessing.” If he did that, would Cain have beaten him to death? He most likely would not have killed Abel. This was the mistake of Abel.

However, since God accepted only his offering, Abel thought that this was because he was better than his brother and God must have only liked him. Then, Abel must have bragged to his older brother, “Older brother, see, my offering was accepted.” Without doubt he bragged to Cain. Otherwise, why should Cain’s face turned as red as a red radish, while Cain was still, not moving or doing anything? Do you think Cain would have gotten furious if Abel did not say anything? Surely, Abel mocked Cain to his face, “What’s wrong with you? My offering got received.” Then, he must have danced around Cain piling it on over and over again. What I am saying here is that Abel must never be arrogant. He must be humble. If he was acting like this, it is sort of fitting that he was beaten to death. It is a natural consequence of his action that he would be beaten to death.

Moreover, Cain and Abel must never be separated before being united as one. One side is the right hand and the other side is the left hand. Accordingly, you must establish the faithful position of recognizing that God is your God as well as the other’s God. God not only loves you but also loves the other. Then, you must always seek and serve the Abel type figure and try your best effort to avoid the position of Cain. You must clearly know that unless you can become such a person, one day you will inevitably be judged.

It is valuable that Abel shed his blood in order to prepare the way for Cain to survive. In the place where this sacrifice is made, you will find something noble – the standard for victory.

What is the secret to becoming the Abel figure? It is safeguarding the tradition. If you face a situation of being killed without reacting or fighting back, you will become Abel. You have to understand this. Jesus was said to be the lamb, right? Therefore, even if you are stabbed, you must not react.

You have learned about Cain and Abel problems in the Principle. Abel must separate himself from Satan or from Cain. Next, by experiencing and embodying the sorrow of both God and the older brother upon entering the realm of God’s love, he would have made the determination to sacrifice his life in their place; and he must save the older brother even if that means putting his life on the line and risking his own life. However, before this process is completed, Cain murdered Abel.

Whom must Abel love? [Cain] Abel must love Cain. He must subjugate him naturally with love. He must stand in the position of loving him by shedding blood and tears. He must give greater love than anyone else in the world. Otherwise Cain will not submit to Abel, and thus restoration cannot be carried out.

What does Abel have to do? He has to restore three great realms. First, Cain must be restored. Second, parents must be liberated. Third, God must be liberated. Abel must accomplish these three great missions. Do you understand? In other words, without liberating the satanic world, parents cannot appear. After that, if parents are not liberated, God cannot be liberated. It is Abel’s mission to be responsible for the three realms of liberation.

Jesus, Who Possessed God

When humankind restores its dominion over the whole by finding their original hearts, then they will be granted the authority to command any being in the creation through the activities of their minds. Thus far, no one has perfected the mind’s ability to dominate like this.

Moreover, we still stagnate in the sorrowful state where human beings cannot assert their authority to act systematically according to the Will of God. Satan has much cause to rejoice due to this. As long as humankind remains stagnant, this condition puts God into a state of anguish. You must clearly understand this.

What was the wish that God wanted to realize through Jesus, whom He sent after 4,000 years of preparation? Because in the course of 4,000 years, there was not even one person who gained possession of the God who was lost, Jesus wished that humankind could possess God through him.

Consequently, Jesus arose as the perfected possessor of God. What is more, Jesus was the person who was sent to represent the mind of humankind in the human world and the external aspect of God’s heart.

Two thousand years have passed since the coming of Jesus. What is the condition of glory that every people, tribe and individual must come to possess? It is none other than possessing God. It is the hope of Jesus and God that such a person will come forward.

Jesus came to the earth and possessed God. Furthermore, as his mind established the base of reciprocity with human beings, his body represented the body of God.

Jesus emerged after setting the standard to own the mind of God and the creation. He came bodily with the principled right of possession. Therefore, the day he appeared was the day of God representing the whole universe.

Suppose the saints of today, believing in Jesus and understanding God, obtain God’s comprehensive right of unchanging possession. What would they do? You must join the standard of value centering on that right of possession with your mind and your physical body and present it before the whole of heaven and earth. This is what Jesus left behind on the earth. You must understand that the ideology of the Second Advent of today longs for that day to come.

What is the mission the Lord of the Second Advent must do after he comes to the earth? What is the ultimate purpose Christians must fulfill in the last days? No matter how much Christians have come to possess God with their minds, or no matter how much you have come to possess God with your minds, there still remains one condition (of accusation) and that is the fact that you have failed to own your body. For this reason, you must complete your right to possess your body now and emerge as the embodiment of God’s love and the incarnation who can testify to the original nature of God. When will such people emerge? You must understand that Jesus came to raise such people.

The Result of Losing God

What are our grief, sadness and lamentation? What is the sincere hope and wish that has been hidden deep within the course of dispensational history for 6,000 years? It is finding God, whom humankind, the universe, heaven and earth have lost. God is the hope we must seek and He is the root of the glory that represents the value of the whole. Therefore, to restore the dominion of God over the whole, you must be able to possess God. You must become people who can greet God.

What kind of being is God? You must understand that He is the God who created all things and who has been working hard to have dominion over the whole Creation. Accordingly, if you come to possess God now, because that God is your God, if He is eternal, you also will become eternal. If He gains dominion over the whole world of creation, you will be able to stand in the position of the incarnation of God who can govern over all things. If you cannot raise yourself up, then you cannot say you possess God.

The reason there is so much sorrow and death on the earth is because we have lost God. What is more, by our losing God, Satan came to fill the role of the master. According to the principles of creation, humankind originally should have served God as the only master, but because of the fall, they have come to serve Satan as the master in place of God.

Before you lies the fateful responsibility to repossess the love of God. Yet who is blocking the path? Who opposes the will that the created world of all things serves God as the one center? It is Satan, who is inducing sin and evil in you today. Hence, if you cannot pull out the root of sin and evil implanted deep in your mind today, and if, representing humanity, you cannot build the world of God after defeating Satan, the betrayer of Heaven who has been fighting for 6,000 years, then you cannot exercise the dominion of God on the earth.

You are seeking freedom in your minds, but the question is what kind of freedom you are pursuing. If you cannot find God, you will become the servant of Satan. Accordingly, if you cannot possess God but instead possess Satan, you will become a traitor who violates the universal principles. You must understand this.
