How can a man be reborn?

Quote

“I tell you most solemnly,
unless a man is born through water and the Spirit,
he cannot enter the kingdom of God:
what is born of the flesh is flesh;
what is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Do not be surprised when I say:
You must be born from above.
The wind blows wherever it pleases;
you hear its sound,
but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going.
That is how it is with all who are born of the Spirit.”

John 3:5-9

What does God need?

God is absolute, omniscient, and omnipotent; therefore, He doesn’t need knowledge, money, or power – although the people of this world place importance on those things. Man has been busy researching the world around him, and science has developed rapidly, but man has fallen far short of understanding what God’s creation is all about. All things in the universe are systematically interrelated. Therefore we cannot deny that God is Himself systematic, and the king of all knowledge. With regard to power, there is nothing under the sun that can compete with God: He is able to create everything man can possibly imagine, even now. And He is the owner of everything. He does not need any of the things the people of this world earnestly desire to possess. Then what does God need? There is one thing that God, as well as man, desperately needs, and that is true love.

Liberty and charity

Quote

My brothers, you were called, as you know, to liberty; but be careful, or this
liberty will provide an opening for self-indulgence. Serve one another, rather, in
work’s of love, since the whole Law is summarised in a single command:
Love your neighbour as yourself. If you go snapping at each other and tearing
each other to pieces, you had better watch or you will destroy the whole
community.
Let me put it like this: if you are guided by the Spirit you will be in no danger
of yielding to self-indulgence, since self-indulgence is the opposite of the Spirit,
the Spirit is totally against such a thing, and it is precisely because the two are
so opposed that you do not always carry out your good intentions. If you are
led by the Spirit, no law can touch you. When self-indulgence is at work the
results are obvious: fornication, gross indecency and sexual irresponsibility;
idolatry and sorcery; feuds and wrangling, jealousy, bad temper and quarrels;
disagreements, factions, envy; drunkenness, orgies and similar things. I warn
you now, as I warned you before: those who behave like this will not inherit the
kingdom of God. What the Spirit brings is very different: love, joy, peace,
patience, kindness, goodness, trustfulness, gentleness and self-control. There
can be no Law against things like that, of yourse. You cannot belong to Christ
Jesus unless you crucify all self-indulgent passions and desires.
Since the Spirit is our life, let us be directed by the Spirit. We must stop
being conceited, provocative and envious.

How Freedom Grows

Quote

It is absolutely clear that God has called you to a free life. Just make sure that you don’t use this freedom as an excuse to do whatever you want to do and destroy your freedom. Rather, use your freedom to serve one another in love; that’s how freedom grows.

(from the book: God of Wonder)

Love, Deed, Conscience

Quote

My children our love is not to be just words or mere talk, but something real and active; only by this can we be certain that we are children of the truth and be able to quiet our conscience in His presence, whatever accusations it may raise against us, because God is greater than our conscience and he knows everything.

Breathe Life

Quote

As we breathe we are given a new life, a new chance, a new breath. Yet so many times we may forget and are consumed by fantasies of ourselves and of course this leads to missing the chance to be fully present and alive, in deep prayer, with each breath.

(from the book: Cheon Hwa Dang, The House of Heaven’s Harmony)

Often

Often, our life is not aligned with God,

Often, our heart just misleads us,

Often, our mind is scattered, in pieces,

Often, we are torn and tear others into pieces.

Often, we want to live in a better way,

Often, we are careless how others feel,

Often, we simply turn away,

Often, we are proud for our deeds.

Often, our mind goes to the east,

And often, our body stays in the west,

Often, we loose harmony,

and often, our days are in disunity.

Often, we cannot see the Light,

Often, we claim to be right,

Often, we fail to admit,

Often, our actions are fake.

Always, there is a way,

Always, He, who is still waiting,

Always, Salvation and Truth,

Always, Pray, Redeem and Change,

So God’s Blessings can be upon on you

and through you on others!

God emphasizes and values any quality that resembles Him

Whenever God visited humanity who have committed countless sins and transgressions up until today, He emphasized and valued any quality that resembled Him – even a quality only a little greater than the numerous evil qualities of men – so that He could visit His children, beseechingly and desperately, based on this quality and on the original standard. This is the heart of parents.

Today, you stand in the position that you should move forward to reach the heart of parents with missions for your race and nation as well as for the world. When you look at your race, your race stands in the orphan’s position, where he is screaming and crying looking for his lost parents. When you look at one nation, you find it a nation who has lost its parents. When you look at the world, you must have a heart to recognize it as a world that has lost its parents. With is heart, you must prepare yourself to move forward to a new base, by reconnecting with Heaven. Jesus came to earth in order to do just this.

The origin of the cult of idols

The invention of idols was the origin of fornication, their discovery the corrupting of life. They did not exist at the beginning, they will not exist for ever; through human vanity they came into the world and hence a sudden end has been designed for them.

A father afflicted by untimely mourning makes an image of his child so swiftly taken, and now he honors as a god what yesterday had only been a dead man, bequething mysteries and initiations to his dependents. Then in the course of time the godless custom hardens, and is observed as law and, by command of princes, the carved images receive worship.

Of those who lived too far away to be honored in person men would make a portrait from a distance and produce a visible image of the king they honored, meaning, by such zeal, to flatter the absent as if he were with them. Even people who did not know him were stimulated into spreading his cult by the idealism of the artist; for the latter, doubtless wishing to please the ruler, exerted all his skill to make the likeness finer than reality and the crowd, carried away by the beauty of the work, accorded divine honors to him whom only recently they had honored as a man. And this became a pitfall for life, that men, whether slaves to misfortune or princely power, should have bestowed the incommunicable name on sticks and stones.
